Come join us in Boston, Massachusetts, July 22-23, 2022, for the Regional Leaders of Open Education Summer 2022 Summit, a two-day, in-person opportunity to share resources, collaborate, discuss our open education strategic planning, and forge new and deeper RLOE network connections. Consider bringing a friend or your family and expanding your conference experience to include a Boston summer vacation!

Summit Description
Our RLOE Summer 2022 Summit has been designed with inclusivity in mind. We have done our best to keep costs low while still providing the cultural opportunities of a historical city conference site such as Boston. Most noteworthy is the near total support for the conference we are able to provide through some scholarships for up to $1099 for RLOE participants to cover registration and lodging costs, based on both need and demand.

Besides onsite programming and networking, we will also provide asynchronous opportunities to engage with peers from across the three cohorts and a virtual post-summit un-webinar.

The Onsite RLOE Summer 2022 Summit Program will include the following:

  • Two days of sharing resources, collaborative discussions, leadership development, and networking at the conference center of the hotel
  • 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches (during the Fri and Sat programming days)

Getting Around
Logan International Airport in Boston is only 4 miles away, so the ground transportation to/from the hotel is fairly inexpensive:

  • Uber: $18-20
  • Taxi: $13-20
  • Bus MBTA (The Silver Line 1): Free, but must walk .5 mile to hotel from stop) — see screen shot below. Daily Schedule.

The Silver Line 1 goes from the airport to near the hotel. Guests will take SL1 South Station Bus from any terminal and the fare from Logan Airport is free. The number of stops will depend on the terminal but the final stop will be Congress St @ World Trade Center Station. From Terminal C, it is 2 stops, and from Terminal E, it is 1 stop. It should take about 15-30 minutes on average to arrive at the hotel, depending upon the terminal. The SL1 runs from 5:30 AM-12:30 AM every day of the week. From the Congress St @ World Trade Center Station, head southwest on World Trade Center Ave toward Summer St, turn left onto Summer St, turn right onto D St, turn left onto Anchor St, and then the hotel will be on the left.

Walking route from Congress St. SL1 stop to the Boston Aloft Hotel

Boston is a world class destination city! Since the Boston Aloft Seaport hotel is close to the silver line of the Boston’s subway the “T,” you can easily take it into the city. Here is a list of possible activities to explore: Best Things to Do in Boston. The attractions and sites include museums, parks, whale watch tours, harbor cruises, and historical walking tours, just to name a few.
